On March 12, 2026, USTR published a Federal Register notice opening Section 301(b) investigations into whether the absence or weak enforcement of forced-labor import bans in 60 of the United States’ largest trading partners is “unreasonable or discriminatory” and burdens or restricts U.S. commerce.
