The Property (Digital Assets etc) Act 2025 entered into law in the UK in December 2025. The Act creates a third category of personal property, explicitly recognising digital assets like cryptocurrencies and NFTs as legal property. This principles-based legislation strengthens protections for digital asset owners and provides both clarity and flexibility.
