The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit recently held in Causam Enterprises, Inc. v. International Trade Commission that the language “all divisions, reissues, continuations and extensions thereof” in an assignment document does NOT cover continuation-in-part applications.
Furthermore, there are almost no reasons to file a continuation-in-part application.
