Brazil’s Provisional Measure No. 1,394/2026 abruptly reverses the country’s recently established betting regulatory framework, affecting sponsorship agreements and commercial relationships across the sportainment industry. The article examines the resulting contractual challenges, pending constitutional proceedings before Brazil’s Supreme Federal Court and broader concerns regarding legal certainty, regulatory predictability and investor confidence.
